Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS) is the local infrastructure organisation for North Somerset, providing a range of development and liaison services to groups, and the services of a Volunteer Centre.

Other services VANS provides to voluntary and community groups include:

• One-to-one and group formal training;
• Support and development;
• ICT support and development.

VANS participates in several projects and partnerships that support its work:

• Member of the Health and Well Being Delivery Partnership;
• Member of the Children, Young People and Parenting Organisations forum and Children’s Trust;
• Volunteer Centre for North Somerset including a supported volunteering project;
• One of three voluntary sector representatives on the North Somerset Partnership (LSP);
• Member of the LAA and Sustainable Community Strategy sub groups.

In partnership with West of England Consortium VANS:

• Is a delivery partner for the Capacity Building Networks project;
• Chairs the North Somerset Voluntary Sector Forum;
• Chairs the Voluntary Sector Forum Steering Group;
• Is the main delivery partner for West of England Consortium’s BIG Lottery project Reaching Out: Linking In.
